120L board choice.....which one??

Hi There,
I am having real trouble deciding on a new @ 120 litre board. Your testing was very good, so Im trying to decide between Futura or X-cite. I already sail an xcite 120, but its quite old, @ 06/07, so my question is, is there much difference between the new JP and my old one?, is the Futura a hands down better board and if you had to pick one which would you go for?.
I only sail flat water 15-25kn, but can get choppy,I weigh 75kg, sails are 5.5 NCX, 6.5 V6, and basic jibing.
Or should I go for a 111l Futura, which is what my local retailer is telling me!!?

The X-Cite Ride is a choice we are confident you wont be dissapointed with. It will be a fair upgrade to your current model - offering a better range of use and a more refined all-round performance. Its extremely controllable in the chop, so that should pose no problem at all.

The Futura is a slightly more specialist choice. You may love it, but likewise you may not! Its definitely a more full-on ride with less control than the X-Cite. You will notice this particularly in chop. It feels a much wider, shorter board than the JP and more of a 'skimming sensation' in a straight line.

If you can try the Futura, we would definitely suggest to try before you buy as its more of a marmite board than the JP. You might love it, but you might also not......

Good luck!

Dear Sailor,

My best reccomendation would be to check out boardseekers 120 free ride board test from last year, it will give you a pretty good up to date-ish overview of each boards performance and will highlight which features/characteristics are best for you.

ultimtaly try and get on board both and check em out- especially as windsurf kit is becoming more expensive! make your own mind up and do not be pushed into any board purchase you are not comfortable with.

The new JP excite rides have come along way since your current model, maybe better for you and like wise maybe not, i am not here to pimp our brand, but offer advice that will see you happy with whatever purchase you make!

good luck
