What to do

Windsurfer of long standing, in mid 50's now and moved to Dubai, light winds 10knts. I never took any kit with me due to the light winds, I have had a few kite lessons and got draged about on 18 m2 beast! Not the same as wind surfing, I have been thinking about the new Mistral paddle board as a light wind cruser and surf board as we do get some wind blown chop to play in. I weigh 200lbs I don't know if I want to go the kite route, any advice would be appreciated.

You should probably go for larger sails. I think with your weight and the wind conditions you have between 9.5 and 10.5 should do. A board I could recommend is Tiga Hyper X 130 - super early to plane and will carry up to 11.5 sails. This should help you blasting around a lot. For fun in the chop or small waves I am afraid the wind is just not enough.

Good winds.
