The National Windsurfing Festival (NWF) 3-4 Sept

Whilst we attempt to deliver most disciplines for all abilities at the NWF. We never forget our core business which is supporting and delivering an awesome festival all around the free-ride sailor. So if you can sail in a straight line gybe or swim round a mark then this event is for you

In these tuff economic times we are doing everything possible to consume the extra expenditure regarding the execution of this years NWF. In order to ensure we can offer excellent value for money to the mass free-ride community. So we have decided that there will be no extra increase to the entry fee or party tickets.

We will also have longboard and wind supping categories within this years NWF 3-4 Sept 2011. So it really does appeal to all windsurfers for all abilities and equipment. Or maybe you feel your equipment isn't as competitive as it was once due to its age, no problems then enter either the pre 1985 or pre millennium category.

I know it wont enthuse everyone but

National SUP Festival (NSUPF)

1. Its is my intention to hold a National SUP Festival alongside this years NWF, it will have its own event logo, posters and event rash vests to encourage newcomers to the festival and establish (NSUPF) with its own identity.
2. It also gives an opportunity for those windsurfers who own SUP’s to join in if the conditions are not favourable for windsurfing, enabling maximum participation on the water at all times in all conditions. The sport as you know is still in its infancy and whilst I know some of you don’t share the same opinion as myself, but I for one feel the sport compliments windsurfing and may even encourage new people to windsurfing and windsurfers to SUP.
3. I have spoken to many who are already established within the SUP community and feel we have a variety of disciplines, which we can execute over the weekend, which caters for the established racers, surfers and newcomers alike. With 2 main classes National and Cruising Class.
4. Conduct SUP taster sessions throughout the weekend alongside the windsurfing taster sessions.
5. The disciplines options will be confirmed according to the weather conditions nearer the time but to give you some idea of my thoughts:

(a) Long distance
(b) Beach Sprints
(c) Down Wind
(d) Down Wind Slalom
(e) Night SUP
(f) SUP Surf on Sandbar
(g) Taster sessions
(h) Adventure Cruise

None of the above will interfere with the delivery and high standards we have already set for the NWF. I see more of a complimentary discipline and strong synergy between the 2 sports. Lets face it we all just want to have fun on the water!

The Heathrow Jets will once more be entertaining us on Sat 3rd Sept after the night windsurfing/sup competition. They are an excellent indie, covers band and was so well received last year it would be rude not to invite them along again. The party is a hawaiian themes evening all sponsored by Spartan Wetsuits. Tickets are limited to 1000 and they go on sale as of 1st June. So book early to avoid disappointment. 1 x entry is free with competitors entry fee.
