now, we all like to be paranoid of 'the man' it helps us to feel individual and separate from the machine and yes, i agree that money from advertisers cannot be ignored but its worth remembering that everyone IS different, we all like different things, whats to say that just because you found a board not to your liking that the combined wisdom of some of the better sailors in the country is wby randall strauss - BOARDSEEKER MAGAZINE
nice rant big z great to hear SUPing does have its place for us middle aged types who find it difficult to pop up on a surfboard due to dodgy hips etc. but i agree, lets have some proper windsurfing journalism, not constant product updates there are loads of things going on out there keep rantingby randall strauss - BOARDSEEKER MAGAZINE
last year we were gripped at 4 am when the tool measuring our van (a swb vito) measured it at over 5m. gripped we started to remove the tow bar then thought to get it remeasured and it turned out to be well under 5m. our sleep deprived state almost caused a mare. later found out that the surcharge wasn't actually that much so i'd worry less about the cost to take it over on the ferry and more abby randall strauss - GENERAL DISCUSSION
nice one Jan not just me then on the few occasions i have tried jumping starboard i.e. goofy i find it next to impossible requiring utmost concentration unfortunately there have been no waves to ride so i have assumed i just can't do anything the wrong way round anyone tried skating the opposite way round to improve their riding?by randall strauss - GENERAL DISCUSSION
i've been wondering about this for a while, i, like a lot of other people am regular footed when it comes to surfing / skating etc but spend all of my time sailing on Port tack which means that wave riding is performed in a goofy foot stance, so the question i suppose is. . . . is waveriding easier when riding on your natural tack? starboard = regular port = goofy i so rarely sail starboby randall strauss - GENERAL DISCUSSION
agree with the gurgle, a brief interest i've had in this pointed to milk being as good as any multi million dollar supplement drink, also that whole milk is better as you have all the benefits of the nutrient / hydration with a little of what we all love - fat milk/pasta/cookies thats my fav combo. keeps me going for hours. i can sail for a while too . . . . .by randall strauss - GENERAL DISCUSSION
what about big Dunc Coombes? or was that just the UK title? by the way respec to the Proffit thats got to be a career highlight!by randall strauss - GENERAL DISCUSSION
does anyone out there know what has happened to the PWA regarding waves this year as far as i can work out there are only three events and all of them at pretty marginal locations we are bombarded all year with pics and tales from the best wave spots around the world and yet the supposed iconic world tour seems to be stuck with three - just three events at what i understand are pretty poorby randall strauss - GENERAL DISCUSSION

fair point i would say on the US vs North pin system i have now changed to the US bases as twice now i have been deposited a long way out in big seas with just a rig whilst my board headed off back to the beach, all thanks to ( two different ) North pin bases ever tried swimming 1/2 a K with just a rig in 2+m swell? got a bit tiresome after a bit to be fair would be keen to know if anyonby randall strauss - GENERAL DISCUSSION

Agree with Al masts - carbon great the more the better booms - same big difference in stiffness etc extention? fills the 'carbon' desire for trinkets but worth the money? dunno weight improvement is minimal on something like that pick up a carbon extension and then a quality aluminium one - i can't tell the difference but my wallet can maybe if your sailing at the top end and every little cby randall strauss - GENERAL DISCUSSION

appreciate the stoke lemon, the point was that i was the only one out - even though its cold we have just got to take it when it comes. rhossy in the summer is verging on dangerous with the amount of people out there, throw in a couple (!!) of kiters to the mix and you are taking chances. - its cold but when it finally blows, lets goby randall strauss - GENERAL DISCUSSION

totally agree with waite. i looove my twinny (78 in case you care) and prior to that thought nothing would ever better my acid (77 likewise) but when it broke i went down the evo line and almost gave up, hateful, hateful thing. until one day over the horizon came the love of my life. never had a board been so easy to get along with, dependable, eager to help at every opportunity and when i finallby randall strauss - ASK A CLONE
