Navigation Search Content Other Mpora SitesHey Buddy, I use to have that problem then it came to me, speed. Speed helps alot when trying to pop the board out of the water, also as you press hard down on the back foot, left with the front and sheet in this will give you some power in the sail to get you up. If you sheet out the noise well rise out of the water and it makes it harder. Go here to see how Phil does it Have fuby sparrow - GENERAL DISCUSSION

Ok i'll come clean i'm not a sparrow i am just a mere man, but a man with many questions about this because i'm sure boardseeker was doing ok without the help of Teen wolf and golf clubs before! And i'm sure most companies that want to advertise on a website have to pay for the space and right to advertise on the site, and all this about bringing more people to the website is crap, why would aby sparrow - GENERAL DISCUSSION

Is it just me or has this forum been taking over by crap that has nothing to do with windsurfing like new tv shows and whats better a pc or tablet, its doing my head in because i come to this site to read some of the advice and topics that fellow windsurfers have to give and say. Admin please do something about this! Sparrowby sparrow - GENERAL DISCUSSION
I use a mistral joker 99ltr 2009 and a cut down fin around 19cm and my biggest sail is 5.3 manic from 06 works well in 17knots at rutland but then i am a light wieght 70kg i would recommened shoping around for maybe some older sails on the cheap 08 and up just to try out a few sizes Sparrowby sparrow - GENERAL DISCUSSION
No it isn't a joke, I just want to know of there was anybody out there that does the same job as me and windsurfs because of working most weekends and night I don't get to go windsurfing as much as I use to with all my mates who are in uni and saying that most of them have now turned to kitesurfing witch to be honest is kindda gay so I thought why not see if there people out there in the same siby sparrow - GENERAL DISCUSSION
What does windsurfing mean to you?by sparrow - GENERAL DISCUSSION
I started my new job as a croupeir last year now and haven't had as much time on the water as I'd liked to be having due to working hours mostly nights and weekends, and because I still don't drive it's hard to get to the beach when I do have the day off, this at first was a really hard thing for me to start with because I was used to being on the water everyday being a windsurfing instructor.by sparrow - GENERAL DISCUSSION
This is what I've been looking around for, for ages now and I'm glad that someone has done it I think it's a really cool idea. I live in Southampton and not to far from some nice spots but most days can't get there because I don't drive and when I do get days off when it's windy my misses is working so I think that I may be getting one from you in the not to distant future, all I need now is a biby sparrow - GENERAL DISCUSSION
If you can get in touch with juice boatdsports there a nice chap called Ben who has a very nice Patrick freestyle board and his always more than happy to help out with kit and advice he also works out in kos most summers with kefalos windsurfing and sailing (plug) lol. give them a call? Hey Dude, I have both a 20cm and 16cm fins havn't really had the change to try out the 16cm as yet but the 20cm fin is a really good starting point as you only really need to get your fin out with the vulcan it will also, as the other guys have said get you on the plane quicker and upwind easier it will also aid you in gybing, downwind and upwind 3's and you'll need to learn to ride more on yoby sparrow - GENERAL DISCUSSION

Hi Chris, The best bet for yourself is to go 2nd hand as your still learning to get in the harrness and straps just for the simple fact that you can pick them up cheap and you might end up going through the middle? (I managed to get a 4.5 rushwind curl and a 5.3 gasstra manic 06 for only £80 each! had them since Nov 09 never let me down and i try freestyle.) ebay it up mate!! Withby sparrow - GENERAL DISCUSSION
Keep it, to beat of kitesurfers this summer! Sparrowby sparrow - GENERAL DISCUSSION
I have to agree with you there the cost of the kit is on the boarder of taking the piss when i told my sister, mum and even a few mates that i got my first board that it cost me £700 and the rig nearing on £400 they said thats a lot of money for a person to be spending on kit that your only gonna use every now and then i agree with them but i wanted it to hopfully help me on the road to competeby sparrow - GENERAL DISCUSSION
Hi Ben, Well i hope to see you around some time as i also live in sunny southampton and looking to do some of the Xpression sessons next year! I'll be working out in Kos training hard for the sessons ahead and it would be nice to see a program on the UKSA for freestylers alike, keep safe and happy sailing dude. Sparrowby sparrow - GENERAL DISCUSSION
Is there a structure?? If there is i would join. The only reason i can see to join at the moment is you have to be a member to compete, not sure i'm right? I want to compete next year in a few freestyle events but i am no pro thats for sure, it would be nice for there to be more info out there on how to get in to that side of the sport. I'm heading to Kos!! with Kefalos windsurfing flights booked 2 weeks and counting managed to get myself out of the lake and i'll do Naxos next year with a few mates thinking this will be my last season if i get the news i want from the army!by sparrow - GENERAL DISCUSSION

I agree with the lads on this one, I got a 42 north xt not to long ago and have used north carbon xt and i think that if you wanna go pro and evey little helps then yeah but i'm sure the mere mortals like ourselfs won't notice it i never did apart from the fact i liked the fact i was sailing on full carbon kit. Save your money to get a 2010 freestyle board and rip it up hard. Sparrowby sparrow - GENERAL DISCUSSION
If you take a look on youtube at some of the videos of headcam footage i would go for the Go Pro Hero, i got some sort of action cam but the piture and frame rate is shit to be honest! x1 vot for the Go Pro (HD if you got the money) Look forward to seeing some action from you soon dude Sparrowby sparrow - GENERAL DISCUSSION
Cheers for the help guys, I wanna head out to greece either way i might head over a few weeks before the job starts just to see if i can get another job, if i can save the cash? I wanna compete in freestyle but still have abit more learning to go yet so i wanna train hard and then i go for the frestylexpresson sessons next year the Will Rogers told me about in another post. I have come up with a cunning plan, This summer i will work both in France with Rockley (Month and a half) and in Naxos with Plaka watersports (2 months) Best of both i reckon get some good times teaching and good times sailing hard work is always rewarded with abit of play time! Looking over windguru the wind doesn't look to bad this week if only i didn't have to work i be on the water in a heartbeat with the wind were geting down here in the south! Sparrowby sparrow - GENERAL DISCUSSION
True dude thats what i say, Why only show a small part of our sport get some freestyle and wave action in there and people will look at in a new light, more kids wanting to get on the water and take part and more respect for windsurfing. Everyone i work with has said they think windsurfing looks boaring because they only know it from the olympics give it some balls out action then let them sayby sparrow - GENERAL DISCUSSION
