Navigation Search Content Other Mpora SitesLooks like some strong winds this coming week. Any advice on where might be good between Witterings and Weymouth for this direction would be appreciated. If anyone near Devon, Paignton will be good and should have some good swell, but avoid high tide, still saleable by the way but not so enjoyable.by Neal - GENERAL DISCUSSION

Hi Al Can anyone confirm if the following car parks have any rheight estrictions, been going to them for years but as it wasnt important to me I cant remember: Bigbury Hayling Island Lepe Calshot Hillhead Exmouth sea front Exmouth duck pond Weymouth overcombe Poole sanbanks car park Daymer bay Marazion Westward Ho Cheersby Neal - GENERAL DISCUSSION
Thanks for the replies Actually I sail Exmouth sometimes myself, and I know there are height restrictions but havnt a clue what they are. Ive given up on the mid height transit anyway now, although it was the perfect van, and am now looking for a std height because I dont want to take the riskby Neal - GENERAL DISCUSSION
Im looking at finally getting a van for windsurfing :-) Have me eye on a Transit T350 Medium roof. Now, as it hasnt affected me in the past, I havnt taken any notice but there are many beaches with height restrictions. Does anyone know if there is a universal height restriction or is it council specific. Also does anyone know if a medium height van will get into most car parks, be a bitby Neal - GENERAL DISCUSSION
Sorry you had a bad experience but Ive bought lots and lots of kit of these guys and they have been brilliant. Advice has been given freely with no pressure selling and recently I bought a wetsuit and the seam started to go, I was in Tiree at the time and contacted them, it wasnt their fault, and when I got back they replaced it no problem. Excellent service! They have let me sail some demoby Neal - GENERAL DISCUSSION
- 2 years agoIf it was easy it would be kitesurfing :-) Sorry couldnt resist that!by Neal - GENERAL DISCUSSION
Okey dokey, No problem :-) Its just that all the windsurfers I know are skint :-) Well, probably not skint but definfetly not able to afford fancy transport or new baoars for that matter. I hail from the south west where wages are very low, and Im sensitive to being labelled with the south east.by Neal - GENERAL DISCUSSION
Well I Sail allong the south coast from Hayling to Cornwall, have done for 25 years and never owned a van or a fancy car, in fact only a minority have expensive vans as far as I can see. Loads of old vans Its the normal have a go at the southern softies, yeah right just becuase its colder uo north, thats not our problem.by Neal - GENERAL DISCUSSION
Just read the thread, very interesting read. Now I have an idea, why dont as many of us who can and want to, form a co-operative and set up our own board company. I bet between us all we have the skills, maybe not shaping, but heh, who knows. Here'some initilial ideas Could start by creating a brand (If Stuart Braggs the brand can nearly do it :-) ). Decide on what market to aim for.by Neal - GENERAL DISCUSSION
Hi LEE Thanks, how I find out who he is? If anyone sees him maybe they could let him know I spoke with Reactive, but they don't know anything about it. On another point, any of the Paignton crew interested in the Haying Island windsurfing w/e in Sept, usually is good fun. If so let me know. in fact had a good sail there this w/e. Cheers nealby Neal - GENERAL DISCUSSION
Hi Lee & Will No havnt done yet, been away for a few days on business. And thanks Will, thats a good idea, cheers If you do get a chance to ask Jack that would be cool, thanks. I couldnt see any forums that were specifically for Plymouth windsurfers. Cheers Nealby Neal - GENERAL DISCUSSION
Hi Anyone who might have been at Bigbury a few w/e's ago. I left my new da-Kine harness, deck plate and uphaul on the grass on the lower ar park sort of in front f the cafe I was told this w/e fro someone who was done there at the same time that someone else picked them up and was going to pass them on to be recovered, I had given up hope actually but you never know, i might still get tby Neal - GENERAL DISCUSSION
Anyone been to Mui Ne in Vietnam. Been browsing some different places to go to and this looks promising, especially Jan / Feb. If you have any first or second info on it that would be cool. Usuall info required, wind, rentals, accommodation. Cheersby Neal - GENERAL DISCUSSION
Hi all Thanks guys for all the info, really appreciated. I will collate all of it and give it a go. Cheersby Neal - GENERAL DISCUSSION
ok all you whizz kids out there. THE DUCK TACK Have done a bit of investigation and have been trying it in light winds. Switch stance no probs, but when I do the actual duck tack the sail flies out of my hand and i go off the back. The question is, at what point do you attempt the tack, where in releation to the wind do you do it? I thought this might be a simple one to get sortedby Neal - GENERAL DISCUSSION
I stayed in Blue Jeri last year and that was fine, not the best but not the worst. Dont forget to have a day at Praia, fantastic huge, massive beach and you will probably be a lone windsurferby Neal - GENERAL DISCUSSION
Well I suppose I should know, but havnt got a clue where Ho ove is. Could someone enlighten me please as Im VERY keen to know :-)by Neal - GENERAL DISCUSSION
oh dear, ive been wanting to do that for years but aint got the bottle, go for it! RESPECT IF YOU DO IT! Area 3 at DAHAB aint bad for some swell, gets big as well. ummmmmm.... what about Fuerte, got a mixture of locations there, would have to get a jalopy to get you round the island tho. MARGARITA, no waves but you can live cheap and a couple did it a few years back, was in the mags, cheby Neal - GENERAL DISCUSSION
I am going to book 2 weeks to Jeri via Planet in the next few weeks. I see there has been plenty of post regarding this location and its a "must" go this time and no excuses or putting off. The only thing like always is cost. As i will be going on me own, the travel costs from Fortelaza to Jeri are high. I can be flexible in times so anyone else planning on going, share costs,by Neal - GENERAL DISCUSSION
