However, I use it at lake garda (i.e. no salt walter = slightly bigger board) with 4.2 - 5.7 but mainly 5.3. I agree with the others: do not go bigger than 5.7 / 5.8 for freestyle. The advantage of a bigger board is that you may use a smaller sail on it to get planning. I believe that for 90% for freestyle moves tby stylomat - GENERAL DISCUSSION
If surf a lot at lake garda in Italy. I use NP Combats, i.e. wave sails, for freestyle (4.2 - 5.3). Many italians who are really light use a North ICE 5.0 or 4.7 for freestyle - even some guys who obviously compete in contests. I would say that up to 5.3 you can easily use a wave sails for freestyle, too. If you go bigger, I would suggest to take a pure freestyle sail. Guns Sails are cheap because they are not sold in stores. They only sell via internet / telephone and, thereby, save the share the store would earn. I do not own a gun sail currently, but I won a 4.7 gun wave sail some years ago before I went to CapeTown for a year of studies at UCT. I really loved it - very light and a good handling. And despite serious sessions in the washing machine, it neby stylomat - GENERAL DISCUSSION
Besides being the best sport ever, it keeps me going in the office earning money for the next trip. And even thinking about it always lifts my mood - even if its 100s of km to the next surfing spotby stylomat - GENERAL DISCUSSION
I would book in advance - provided you are not up for a board nobody else would use. I've been there (Harry Nass - was nice) last year in August an it turned out that the pre-booking was not necessary. But, even though all stations have lots of boards, all of them have the whole range of boards. I.e., even 74l JP twinsers, 140l slalom race boards, etc. Meaning: If you plan to use a 100l fby stylomat - GENERAL DISCUSSION
I also have a Skate 2010 110L TE; its very light and you may also use it as a normal surfboard; i.e. it's fast and easy to jibe. I realised in the past that it is not so easy to do a nice speed jibe with some of the freestyle boards - the rails are too thick and they stop turning if you get into the jibe with a silghtly wrong angel. The skate is nice for bump and jump, also. For freestyle I feby stylomat - GENERAL DISCUSSION
I use a 110L Skate TE for Lake Garda; my main sails are 5.3 and 5.7 and I am at around 80kg+. The italian guys who wheigh about 70kg use 100l freestylers. It is correct that a 98l board will be more aggressive, faster turning, etc., but the 110l board - will plan more easily - can be used with a smaller sail (which makes some moves easier) - is more foregiving Have a look at the manuby stylomat - GENERAL DISCUSSION
Definitely go for 107L. Given your size you can use the board with sails from 5.7 - 4.7 (and smaller if you want) - perfect conditions for freestyle in pleasant winds. Janby stylomat - GENERAL DISCUSSION
Hi Eddie, I just returned from Porto Pollo. The best time for windsurfing is Easter Holiday (water is a little bit cold). The lagoon is quite nice for freestyle. I have been there in the past, but never in the Summer. In April you can get anything from zero wind to 100%, but its most likely that you get 60% (upto 100% if you have a kite) As far as I know, there is not much wind in the summeby stylomat - GENERAL DISCUSSION
I love windsurfing, but it is far too complicated for a newbie these days. Also progress is very slow compared to, e.g., kitesurfing. Windsurfing is called "the mother of all funsports". That's not a coincidence. Back in the 70s/80s windsurfing was simply the only funsport (ok, maybe two or three others) - today there are many alternatives...by stylomat - GENERAL DISCUSSION

Guys, After years with older stuff I decided to buy something new and just spent a huge amount of money for a new set of wave/freestyle sails and 100% RDM masts. So far, I used "normal" masts (also 100%). I is worth the money to buy a 100% Carbon extension? Since the mast / extension does no flex at its bottom end, I feel a carbon extension only reduces the weight a little bit?by stylomat - GENERAL DISCUSSION
I spent two weeks in Dahab - last August (very hot). We had 100% wind, however, 90% of the time I was on 5.3 or 5.8, and I am used to light wind conditions and early planning....During Easter there is normally less wind (about 50%) We booked at Harry Nass. The guys were very friendly and always helpful. Lots of sails (esp. 5.8) were on 30% carbon masts - no skinnys at all. While I used the JPby stylomat - GENERAL DISCUSSION
Hi Guys, While I constantly read boardseekermag, I just registered now. So hello everybody. I plan to buy a new waveboard (one-for all). Just found out that some companies are coming up with 4-fin boards now (e.g., JP and Starboard). Regarding JP, the quad-board is similar to the twin fin board, it just has four slots and can also be set up as twinser. They write that the quad is fasterby stylomat - ASK A CLONE
